March & April brought even more exciting activities. We had a visitor who taught us about all about the tricolour and the history of our Irish flag. The importance of our flag and how we show respect to it. The 2nd to 4th classes went on a history trip to the National Heritage Park in Wexford, where a tour guide showed us life from the Stone Age to early Christian Ireland. We saw replicas of houses, longships, and even dressed in Viking clothes, exploring weapons from the past.
We had an Easter Bonnet parade and an Easter scavenger hunt around the school grounds, which was lots of fun! We also began learning about explanation writing and completed our own projects on lifecycles. Each of us gave a presentation on our work. In Science, we learned about the lifecycle of a chick and incubated eggs in the classroom. We were thrilled when two chicks hatched, and we named them Goldie and Lucky! We learnt how to take care of them after they have hatched. They have now been adopted by our wonderful cleaner, Tina.
