Monageer NS School Ethos
In our school we promote a Catholic ethos. In line with the Church’s teaching and the provisions of the Irish Constitution, we acknowledge that the parents are the prime educators of their children. Therefore parents are actively involved in the formation of school policy.
Our primary aim is to co-operate with parents in promoting the religious, social, moral and academic development of their children.
As a school community (pupils, parents, teachers, special needs assistants, ancillary staff and Board of Management), our objective is the creation of a constructive growing and learning environment:
- where each child can develop in all aspects of their being;
- where each child feels valued for himself/herself and his/her uniqueness as a child of God;
- where there is flexibility enough to meet the needs of children of widely different abilities and backgrounds;
- where there is a discipline which shows caring and concern for each child and nurtures self-esteem and self-respect for others in accordance with Christian values;
- where the talents and potential of each member of the school community are respected and valued;
- where equality of opportunity is consistently to the fore in all areas within the school;
- where each child is cherished, in their uniqueness of personality and ability.
We want our pupils to grow up to be happy, well integrated, well educated Christian adults. We aim to make the school a place where children are happy, always treated fairly and with respect and where parents are always welcome.
